NHPS show with stud book registration

The NHPS annual show took place once again from 7 to 8 August. This year, we were once again guests at the Groenendaal stables in Bunschoten-Spakenburg. It was a very successful two days, with fine weather, interesting categories and high-calibre competitions. The judges present were Romed Posch and Gerald Hartl from the HPT, as well as Jan Oonk and Geart Ludema from the NHPS.

On Friday, we began with the registration of adult mares in the stud book. Six mares took to the arena and all six were registered with satisfactory evaluations.

This was followed by the three-year-old fillies, then the two-year-olds and finally the yearlings.

The two fresh elite candidates triumphed in the Young Horse Championship. Nikolina, owned by Erik and Judith Bosch, was crowned champion, whilst Madesca van de Veldwijk, owned by Walter Bretveld and Ellen Waenink, was named reserve champion. Both are excellent representatives of the Haflinger breed: elegant, well-built mares with superb movement. They show great promise for the future!

Saturday was dedicated first to the foals. After the lunch break, it was the turn of the mares, with and without foals.

We also had the honour of presenting two certificates. The first went to Sjraar Peeters. The stallion Arie van de Kievit, which he bred and had approved, took part in the European Haflinger Championship two years ago. On behalf of World Haflinger Breeding and Sports Federation, we had the honour of presenting Sjraar with a certificate: a fine recognition of his breeding work.
